Certified Marketing Research Specialist facilitate well-planned marketing research methods to measure factors that can drive better corporate decision making and in turn more decisive marketing actions. Certified Marketing Strategy Specialists demonstrate how marketing research findings assist the marketing team conceptualize and finalize product features as well as other components of a company’s Marketing Strategy. Specialists also test multiple marketing hypothesis in order to better understand consumer behavior, define metrics for marketing efforts, and track and improve marketing activities.
Successful candidates will be awarded the Marketing Research Specialist certification by SMstudy® after passing the exam. Summary Description Marketing Research Specialist does research conditions in local, regional, or national areas, or gather information to determine potential sales of a product or service, or create a marketing campaign.

Candidates should have a minimum of three years work experience. It is preferable to complete the Certified Marketing Research Professional certification and study all processes in the SMstudy® Guide – Marketing Research book before applying for the Certified Marketing Research Specialist certification. It is also mandatory to earn 20 educational hours by attending Marketing Research Specialist classroom training provided by a SMstudy® approved VMedu Authorized Training Partner (V.A.T.P.).
Specialist Level Certifications
All Aspects of Sales and Marketing have an associated Specialist-level certification (e.g., “Certified Marketing Strategy Specialist”). The certification exams are proctored and candidates have three hours to complete each exam. The prerequisites are attaining the Professional level certification for that specific Aspect, a study of all of the relevant inputs, tools, and outputs for each process, three years of related work experience, and twenty mandatory educational hours. Individuals who pass the certification exams for three or more Specialist modules are awarded an additional certification called “SMstudy® Certified Sales and Marketing Specialist.”
